After obtaining 87% in FSC, she decided to pursue medical studies, but shortly she dropped out of the program as she thought that it is not a fit for her. She tried her luck with fashion designing as well but ultimately found her passion for acting. When the interviewer asked Mawra how she started her acting career, she told that she along with her sister Urwa used to perform in theatre plays during her school days. Afterward, they both started hosting a kids show, which was aired on a channel called ATV. Urwa then moved to Karachi to start her career as a VJ for ARY Music. Mawra being attached to Urwa also went after her and eventually started getting opportunities to act in dramas. Her first drama was Mere Huzoor and after that, there was no looking back for her. In 2014, Mawra registered herself for an LLB degree from the University of London but put it on hold after receiving an offer to act in a Bollywood film.
